The Space Station – Episode 7
Emil MTO minted out
The 16 piece Up in Smoke minted out very fast. Creator found a great way to inscribe a 4000x4000px artwork of Emil using recursion, reinscription and parent-child techniques on ordinals. Every minter gets the full artpiece as well as a 1/16th part of the artwork. Both inscribed on the same sat.
The mint was very fast, within 5 minutes the collection was sold out. Creator is planning of using this technique on more future collections and hopes Emil wants to do another piece on Ordinal.io.
PunkFellas 10k mint
The day before the recording of this space the PunkFellas mint launch. Good to see that people that haven’t used Ordinal.io before gave compliments about the smooth minting experience on Ordinal.io.
We want to build the platform as userfriendly as possible, so it is easily accessible for people without Bitcoin Ordinal experience.
The mint started of good with about 1500 pieces minted in the first 24 hours.
NOXtoshi joins the stage
Creator asks him what his feelings are about the launch and the first 24 hours. He is happy and was expecting a slow and comfortable mint. The good thing about slow mints is that people who mint actually like the pieces and want to hold them, rather than looking for a quick flip.
What was the inspiration behind PunkFellas? NOXtoshi: the inspiration is simple. He created PunkFellas. He likes the 90’s culture, cryptographic, STAY PUNK culture. He loves CryptoPunks, they are part of digital collectible history. There are a lot of punk copies that look the same, he wanted to put it on Bitcoin and build every character from the ground up. No copy pasta.
There is a PunkFellas discord channel now and the JSON is loaded into Matrica so people on Discord who hold PunkFellas now have access & PunkFellas role.
Ordinal.io platform update
The platform Ordinal.io will grow into much more than you see now. Creator gives a little insight of what is to come. People already noticed other things going on recently. Ordinal.io is a curated launchpad for now and will be a marketplace in the future (everything curated).
There are a lot of launchpads where anybody can launch anything. There is almost no filter and that is a good thing. Creator continues explaining that he thinks there is also room for a curated launchpad. Where before a project can launch there is research on the artist, the proof of work, the time & passion the artist and community around it shows. We’ve noticed that since a few days in our Discord Aliens, PunkFellas, Emil and a lot of Ordskuls join the Ordinal.io discord. We want to delivery quality, stable growth, down to earth, no drama, no manipulation. Just buy art that you like and discuss art in the Discord with fellow holders.
Onboarding new famous artists
One of the reasons curation is important is the fact that we art talking to some famous artists from other chains as well as well known physical world artists. We have some partnerships already planned for this year. Starting in approx. 2/3 months. They are famous and well-known artists who aren’t on Ordinals yet. Artists like that demand curation. They have a build up reputation, buyers and a community. They make incredible art, they are internationally known, for example in the Street Art space. Having huge artpieces around the world.
Planets update: communication and game
The development of the communication escalated. We started with having communication between Planets. Like an intergalactic messenger. It would be costly to do messaging on chain. As you would have to wait for blocks and pay fees for every messenger. But it has to be decentralized no matter what. We then started looking at the protocol we use for stuff like adding Spaceships or names to your planets and from there we started building our own decentralized communication system. It also works outside of Planets but we designed it a way it integrates perfectly for Planet communication. It only grew bigger than that because we discovered a few things. We discovered that we were building a decentralized chain for messages. It syncs between all the users. There are nodes, fullnodes etc, just like Bitcoin. There is no centralized server and users can send messages to eachother directly. The messengers we use now like Whatsapp, Signal, Discord, all have centralized servers. We have seen when servers like Cloudflare of Amazon go down. The messengers go down. The Communication protocol we are building doesn’t have that. It also has a decentralized method to stop bots and spam. So without users having to make accounts, without moderators. Another solution was to make the protocol quantum proof. So encrypted messages cannot be decrypted in the future with quantum technology. Technically everything works. Creator is now working on the UI as it is not really user-friendly yet. We will soon add people from the Ordinal.io community to start testing it. Planets will benefit from this.
Ordskul / Ariete update
Creator loves Ordskul for several reasons. Its all handmade, they are 1/1. The way of distributing is unique. Creator offered Ariete to have a Discord channel on Ordinal.io because a lot of artists want to focus on creating art and not managing a Discord channel. Even though he didn’t launch on Ordinal.io he now has his own Discord channel.
Ariete also partnered up with a new project in the future. Which will launch on Ordinal.io and is Planets/Galaxy related. It will be a design project collab between Creator and Ariete.
The Ordskul mint is now almost half way at 333 out of 666. When the mint on ME hits 333 he pauses the mint. Finishes the artwork of the remaining 333 pieces. And the remaining 333 will than be MINTED ON ORDINAL.IO. Making Ariete an official partner of the Ordinal.io Galaxy.
ORDINAL GOLD
People have been collecting $OG points for a while now and an overview can be seen on the website ordinal.gold . You can earn points on all the collections of Ordinal.io for holding, minting etc. It allows us to see who real collectors are and for the collector its an insight in what you are holding.
It’s a complicated system that is still in progress and it’s a difficult job to find the balance on what rewards can be earned. How do you make sure there is a fair reward for everyone. There are early minters, long term holders, buyers (at different pricelevels), traders, sellers etc.
Adjustments will be made in the future. Feedback is key around Ordinal Gold.
Creator than drops the alpha everybody has been waiting for. In the very near future you will be able to convert your OG points to something (what that something is , stays open as a tease).
More for Ordinal Gold: Social Media startup gonna use Ordinal.io
Last year Creator was approached by a social media startup and asked to join and build a new social media platform. This social media platform is aiming to become big AND they are going to use Ordinals technology. For that they will integrate Ordinal.io as a marketplace into their new social media app.
He cannot share any details on the Social Media app, as he has signed an NDA. But it is planned to launch in the middle of this year. It is something that hasn’t been done before and is quite special.
The Ordinal.io Marketplace has been in development for 2 years. Development sometimes got pushed back because of priorities on other things to develop. But now that the social media app has an expected launch date of the middle of this year, so it has to be finished before that.
Community Growth – Platform Growth
All the projects that launch on Ordinal.io become part of the Ordinal Galaxy / Family. This means not only Creators own projects are qualifying for receiving OG points. Everything that launches on Ordinal.io will give the community OG points for Minting, holding, buying. Etc.
So also Ordskul, Punkfellas, Emil and future launches. This way the Ordinal galaxy keeps growing.
Let’s go!
