Creator:
Thanks everybody for being a part of the slowest successful mint in the Ordinals space.
Deciding early on to not cut the supply or lower the mintprice turned out to be a great choice.
In this spaces we wanted to talk about the 3 key elements of the Planets project. The Art, the entertainment and the (long term) value. These key notes seperates the vision Creator talked about in the spaces for each one of these elements.
The art consists on many things. The Planets themselves and everything that happens around the Planets in the galaxy. The Planets will never change, they will always look the same, even when current events happen or the gamification as mentioned under the 2nd element further impacts Planets. They will not chance. Art collectors who collect Planets purely from art perspective will always have the same looking Planet.
Creator is working behind the scenes with artist both known and unknown in the Ordinals space to add art elements and events to the galaxy (just like the gas cloud, solar flare, etc). The first artist is almost ready and implementing that will be ready in about 4 weeks. Goal is to keep adding these elements so that every day there are different things to see in the galaxy while looking at our Planet.
A second layer in the onion that a Planet basically is, is the entertainment/ gamification element. Creator and the devs are working on a strategy game based around the Planets. They are already working on a system for communication between Planets. Allies can be formed. And every Planet holds resources needed in the game.
Building the game is not a short term development. It is complex and it will take time. There will be things for the game added constantly. Resources will be the first thing visible to the game. Every Planet holds a unique set of resources needed in the game. You can find allies to share resources, or try and raid Planets for those resources. Some Planets are harder to raid (shields). It will be a strategy game like Risk / Command & Conquer / Settlers of Catan.
More details about the game will follow. Note: again, the game will not change the look of Planets. You dont have to play the game if you don’t want to.
No matter what we innovate, all roads lead back to the genesis — the original Planet project remains the heart of it all. Every collab, every future build, it all circles back to Planets.
We are gonna reward actual behavior (based on blockchain data) rather than influencer like&retweet mentality. Some examples:
Ordinal.io will be a platform for bridging holders and artists who are not in ordinals yet, as well as it will be a marketplace for curated art on Bitcoin. For curated we don’t only mean that the platform decides which artist they work together with releasing art. Curated also means Planet holders have premium access to this art.
A second, and maybe even more important part of holding Planets in relation with the Ordinal.io marketplace. Profits of Ordinal.io are shared with the Planets holders. It is basically going to be the platform of all of us. For this, you earn OG. The amount of OG you get is based on 2 things. Holdings & behavior. Which is all based on data on the blockchain. How many Planets do you hold. Do you list. At what pricepoint do you list. All data is available and can be taken into account for the OG distribution. Planets.gallery is already showing OG, so check your account (or address if you don’t have X linked).
There will be more advantages to OG, OG is a way for the project to measure involvement.
How about adding traits to Planets. For easier searching / hunting of Planets. It has been discussed several times but Creator was not sure yet. Is he sure now?
Yes. There will be no traits. All Planets are unique. 1/1 art.
29 block Planets, how can they be earned?
No details yet, but it will be based on holder behavior (which is explained above), not on gamification.
Will other projects be added to the galaxy?
Yes, as you can read in the Art topic, Creator is already in contact with other artists and projects
Will name effect value in the future?
This is an interesting discussion but cannot be answered with a black/white yes/no answer. The market will decide. Some people might want an untouched Planet, some people might also really like the name a Planet already has. The future will tell.
Can we store our art collections in our Planets?
Yes, great idea and already on the todo list. But details how and when (its not high on the todolist now) cannot be given at this time.
